MA Course
This course aims to guide MA students in the MA-HRPD course towards achieving competence and proficiency in the theory and practice of research. This fundamental objective can be realised by helping these students to develop the subject of their research with high levels of intellectual ability, critical analysis and ethical consideration. The course also expects students to be able to apply research knowledge and skills in everyday life with increasing independence. It has a total of 15 sessions for 30 hours. Each session will be mixed with lectures and discussions.
At the end of this course, students will be able to understand the following areas, specifically:
- What academic research is and what is not;
- Different research paradigms;
- Conducting a systematic literature review to be in line with the research objectives;
- Theoretical and conceptual frameworks;
- Choosing an appropriate research methodology; and
- Elements of a strong researchable proposal.
There are 7 modules in this course: the foundation of research, conducting literature review, understanding theoretical and conceptual framework, research design, introduction to qualitative research, introduction to quantitative research and mixed-method research.
